Lincoln Station
Project Summary
Bailey Edward’s inventive solution including five three-story walk-up buildings has allowed New Lenox Development, LLC to develop housing on a unique wedge-shaped site neighboring the New Lenox Metra station. The 220 studio, one-, and two-bedroom units each have a private entrances and some have attached garages. All units will have access to a clubhouse, pool, and outdoor recreation.
To make room for each of these generous market-rate units, we designed a simple “standard” 44-unit building which could be easily modified to fit the property’s unique shape. This standard can be dog-legged and flipped depending on its location without minimizing the apartment unit quantities or sizes. The same method was then applied to the stand-alone garages required throughout the lot, ensuring a consistent look and feel amongst the development’s buildings with ample room for amenities.
Each 44-unit building brings its residents steps away from the Metra’s New Lenox train station, connecting the suburban village to both Joliet and Chicago.
