Federal Health Care Center Out-Patient Clinic Renovation
Project Summary
The Out-Patient Clinic serving Veterans at the North Chicago Federal Health Care Center was in need of modernization and repair. We upgraded the existing finishes throughout the out-patient exam department, provided for patient privacy and created more usable exam rooms for the medical staff.
The podiatry department area was converted to exam and office use for primary care. The design creates two exam rooms per doctor with one including the doctors desk and filing equipment. The reconfiguring of the exam room and exam/office room layouts provide computer screen privacy and proper bedside approach to the exam table.

Warm Welcome
We redesigned the waiting area to accommodate changes to the reception, check-in and check-out sequences and the need for acoustical and visual privacy. Another My Healthy Vet station is integrated into the waiting area. All wall finishes and light fixtures in the waiting area have been updated and the glare and solar heat gain from the skylights minimized.
